Our fantastic year of weddings continues with the wedding of Jen & Nic in Dorset! Yes we continue to travel far and wide to shoot our weddings and we love it! The day started out meeting up with the family and the girls to photograph them getting ready. Jen looked beautiful in her dress as did the rest of the household. I sent my assistant Richard ahead to find the guys that were getting ready at a pub local to the church some 25 mins away. I stayed with the girls until we boarded a minibus to the church but not before stopping just 2 mins away to pick up Jen’s fathers glorious bright red Austin Healy 3000! You couldn’t pick a better way to arrive at a church! The whole village came out to see the beautiful bride arrive!
After the ceremony everyone came outside to a street full of people, confetti & laughter! It was a great time for me to do some documentary shots, I love this 10 minute period as it allows me to pick things off in my own style as people aren’t too aware! After which the couple left in the Healey to get to the fabulous Mapperton House. Home to the Earl and Countess of Sandwich, Mapperton is a glorious sandstone manor house and romantic valley garden deep in a lost Dorset combe among tumbling hills and unspoiled countryside – perfect venue for your wedding.
The wedding reception was in the sunken Italian gardens where drinks, canapes and music set the scene for a wonderful afternoon. Even the weather was on our side after the morning drizzle! We had time to allow people to enjoy this before taking family photos & then taking the bridal party off for ten minutes for some pictures. We had a little time with the couple before the meal but as the light was great I knew we could taken them out as the sun was setting for 5 mins to get what we needed! And I’m glad we did!
I huge thank you to everyone involved with the wedding for making it so much fun and for the couple for being great to be with on the day!
