The perfect partnership for your wedding

Selecting a photographer is one of the most important decisions you will make during your wedding planning. At Brett Harkness Photography, we understand that every wedding is as individual as the bride and groom themselves, and appreciate that it’s often the smallest details that will capture the true spirit of your special day.
With a reputation for tailored, artistic photography, Brett utilises venue, setting, lighting, colour,
mood and scenery in his shoots, which are regularly featured in leading bridal publications. He has a rare talent for capturing people at their best through his unobtrusive reportage style, which is ideally suited to weddings. You’ll also be taken care of by Kristie, who’ll take time to understand what you want from your very personal wedding shoot. Looking after the finer details, she‘ll ensure that Brett captures those all important moments on the day.

“I believe that a wedding day should be about the couple, not us. We blend into the background when we have to, offering a subtle mixture of documentary imagery & elegant portraiture. To tell the story of someones most special day is by far the highest honour that could be bestowed on a photographer.”
Brett (husband & photographer)

Q & A with Brett Harkness
HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH THE RAIN?
Keep shooting!! We always travel with 10 white umbrellas. In the UK you have to go with what the elements throw at you!

DO YOU FEEL UNDER PRESSURE AT A WEDDING SHOOT?
I thrive on the challenge of creating beautiful images in whatever the circumstance. That is the great thing about weddings, no two weddings are the same!

LARGEST & SMALLEST WEDDING?
450 guests in Cheshire… and 2! It was just the bride, groom and us. We were the witnesses as well. An honour to take part and capture such an intimate event.

COLDEST & HOTTEST WEDDING?
Rome, Italy 40F August Canada -25 C December 23rd

BEST ADVICE FOR BRIDE & GROOM?
Breath, slow down, enjoy, smile, soak it in…

HOW MANY WEDDINGS DO YOU SHOOT A YEAR?
Approx 15. I am a photographer and am able to apply my skills to many different areas of photography. Our moto is quality not quantity.

I‘M REALLY NERVOUS ABOUT HAVING MY PICTURE TAKEN, ANY ADVICE?
This is the main reason we do a pre-wedding shoot and consultation. We meet, we talk and then head out on location. Couples go away having had a great time and this confidence carries through to their wedding day.
p.s we don’t make you do anything silly!
