Not long now and the Summer will be with us again! I hope it lasts a little longer than last year for sure! I thought I would post a few images from a family shoot we had in the Summer last year when the days are long and the wind is warm.

It was great fun as all of our shoots are and they take us to some great places and leave us with great memories and some wonderful images for our clients. If you would like your family to be captured then give us a call at the studio or drop us an email for more information.

Here are a few shots from the shoot:

Whilst the winds were blowing we were nice and warm last Saturday in the studio shooting Amber & her family. It was the second shoot in a series of three since Amber was born last year.We spent around an hour and a half playing and letting her have the run of the studio! It was tiring as she kept us on our toes but great fun!

If you are interested in capturing your families memories forever with a fun, funky shoot on location then get in touch with us at the studio.

Here are just a couple of the images that we shot on this shoot.

It has been  a year of travels for sure, whilst we were in Canada this year we managed to do a family shoot with the Flanagan family in the backstreets of Moosejaw, SK. A big thank you to Chantelle & Craig for making the shoot so much fun and of course to Ellah & Dillon for running around and being such great models!

It was a pretty warm day so we had to find some great shade to shoot in & the backstreets gave us ample places to use. Chantelle brought some beautiful clothes to use on the shoot, all of which didn't make it through as clean as they started! Here are some of the images from a great afternoon of shooting.

Wow!!! My husband Craig and I celebrated our ninth anniversary this Christmas, which also marked the ninth anniversary of our beloved BHP Queensberry Wedding Album and our relationship with this extraordinary team! To say what our images mean to us, is simply hard to express. I have come to appreciate my images and their value more and more each year that passes. This Christmas Eve, for our anniversary we sat down with our kids and indulged in the memories of our wedding day - not a moment missed in our album! To relive our own memories and see their own little reactions - I really fully understood what we invested in as a legacy for them and other generations to follow. But now, to continue this with stunning imagery of a time even more precious and dear to us with our own family moments and memories captured is something I am so, so grateful for. The artistry and magic in every shot that Brett has captured has once again taken my breath away. And the most exciting part of it all.....as fabulous as they look on this screen, I know this is no comparison to what they will look like as finished pieces of art soon to be hung and enjoyed for YEARS to come in our home!!!! Thank you Kristie & Brett - simply remarkable!!!!

A couple of weeks ago as the nights started drawing in we headed off down to Castlefield in Manchester to do some shots of Jess for her new portfolio. A huge thank you to her for putting up with the cold. It was worth it as we got some great shots and had a lot of fun.

Working as quickly as we could we found some great backgrounds , using different lighting techniques we looked to get a couple of looks for her. We can also provide you with stylist & hair for your shoots. If you would like images like this or are looking to get into modelling then give us a call at the studio on 01706 340792 or EMAIL us for more information.

Hi Brett, this is what I really like about BHP, fresh new ideas, The first image is just fab, I can't stop looking at her eyes, really like the way she is dressed, this would make a great workshop, enjoy your work as always. :-)

Well what a difference a few years make! We first photographed Chloe when she was 14, then again for her 18th and now for her 21st. So we must be doing something right! It is always a pleasure to work with her and her family and this time was no exception. Even our baby Makenzie came along to oversee the proceedings! A huge thank you to Chloe for being such fun to work with and for giving us her best over the 2 1/2 hours that we had. I wanted this shoot to reflect the fun young woman that Chloe has become , being  a more of a fashion based shoot rather than a lifestyle one! Even wearing a dress that she designed!  You have grown into a fine young woman with the world at your feet.

Here are  some of the best images from the session:

What a great family shoot we had with the Smith family whilst in Canada. We didn't have too long to do the shoot so made the most of the open plan nature of their house. Using a large window, high ISO's and 50mm 1.2 lens. A big thanks to them for giving us their beautiful family for 20 mins and also for their hospitality.

Absolutely brilliant work. Every mother's nightmare is to have a child that does not co-operate for the family photos, and we had two! In 15 minutes of shooting you captured a lifetime of smiles, love and laughter for us! Thanks Brett, Kris and Kenzie:)

2010 saw us shoot the wonderful wedding of Sophie & Chris. As often happens they came back to us when they were expecting the birth of their new baby! It was great to see them again and see their family grow! The weather wasn't too good so we stayed in their house for the shoot. We had lots of fun using most rooms in the house, using lighting to ad some mood to the shot. Sophie looked amazing to say that she was due to give birth in a couple of weeks, & Chris did ofcourse! ! Here are a few images from the shoot.

Our varied and very busy life at Brett Harkness Photography continues as the year draws to and end with some great family shoots. We were delighted to welcome back the Godfrey family,  after photographing their wedding in 2009! Now with a new little member, the gorgeous Nieve.

It was great to see them again and to meet their little girl. They hadn't changed a bit! A big thanks to Vanessa, Andy & Nieve for coming to see us at the studio.

We photograph families all over the UK from London to Scotland and all the bits in between, with Christmas coming contact the studio for more information on booking your own family shoot at your home , the studio or at a great location around the uk, 01706340792 or contact us via the contact page at the top.

Here are some of the lovely images from the family shoot at the studio a couple of weeks ago:

Last week in between the crazy showers we had a great shoot on a farm outside of Buxton, with Melanie & Jack, Jack & Freddie and the dogs! We had a great time and got some lovely shots of the family on Grandad's farm.

We kept the shoot flowing as much as we could in between dodging the heavy showers. We used very little flash on the day day using only our trusty reflector when needed. We shoot families all over the North West and the uk and get to spend time with some great people capturing some lovely family  moments.  Here are a few pictures from the shoot.
