The beautiful weather in May continued with the equally beautiful wedding of Siraj & Malorie at the amazing Highclere Castle where most of you know that Downton Abbey is filmed.

May 25th dawned with a beautiful sunrise as we got ready for this wedding. After coffee we headed down to the location to get ready for the day. Malorie looked stunning in her dress and with flowers by Mary Jane Vaughn. Equally her bridesmaids in black dresses. The guests and the guys arrived early in a stream of classic cars picking up the guests and bringing them to to the castle with specific timing so as not to spoil the individual view afforded to each guest. After the ceremony in the main hall the guests took to the rear lawns for drinks & canopies with the sun beating down. The newly married couple took 5 mins out for a glass of champagne in the privacy of a interior room in the castle.

We had ample time for pictures and using different backgrounds, sunshine and shade we made the most of the location and bridal party. The party continued into the night with a prompt midnight finish as guests made their way onto awaiting buses as Siraj & Malorie sped away to fireworks down the long drive.

An amazing day with equal memories & images to match! Here are a few images from the day & night.

Our wonderful May of weddings continues with the wedding of Louise & Ollie at the fabulous Buxted Park Hotel in East Sussex. Despite the weather gods not being on our side it was a wonderful day and both Louise & Ollie were great sports in getting outside in the spitting rain.

The church in the grounds of Buxted Park was only a couple of minutes walk from the venue where drinks & canopies were served to the arriving guests. After managing to get everyone outside with a break in the weather we then had a little time to spend with the bridal party & Louise & Ollie. Using some of the beautiful location to take pictures of them before everyone went in for the meal.

A huge thank you to Louise & Ollie for making the day so special and for everyone at Buxted Park for their involvement in making the day run so smoothly.

Here are a few images from the day & night:

Our very busy May continues with the simply beautiful wedding of Robert & Joane at the ever enchanting Babington House nr Frome. We had only ever met the couple over Skype up until the day before the wedding where we met at Babington for a quick chat , coffee & a mini shoot.

Straight away we hit it off and knew that the wedding was going to be a joy to photograph with a couple , family & friends that were a joy to be around. With guests from all over the world the guest list matched the eclectic nature of the setting. Also being allowed access to the front of Babington chapel was a first for me and very much appreciated meaning every moment of the ceremony could be captured. The  day continued after a very relaxed ceremony with drinks & canapes on the lawn in front of the house. After a few family shots we had a little time to take a few shots of the bride & groom. Moving smoothly into the meal, speeches & evening celebrations the day finished off with champagne & dancing.

A very big thank you to Robert & Joane & to everyone at Babington that made the day a great success. Here are a selection of images from the day:

Last weekend saw us shooting the fabulous White Party & Wedding of Carl & Amy in the equally amazing location of Hotel Atzaro in the sunny party island of Ibiza. The night before everyone was invited to a wonderful Ibiza style White party with everyone sporting various white outfits befitting for the occasion. A relaxed atmosphere ensued to tones from a saxophonist & DJ around the pool.

The day after was the day we had all been waiting for. The entire day had been organized by Wedding planner Celeste Rose who had thought of every last detail to compliment the day and the Bride & Groom. The guys in matching tailored suits by Anthony Sinclair I have to say were amongst some of the best dressed ushers & Bride & Groom we have ever shot. Amy in her bespoke dress by Phillipa Lepley & shoes by Jimmy Choo & make up by SMACK - Ibiza looked amazing and both were set off by the blue sky and dazzling white buildings of Hotel Atzaro. Beautiful flowers everywhere by Floristeria Virginia

Despite the pressure this job has with it I do take our position to be a very privileged one. We get to experience every moment of a wedding with the Bride & Groom and to see & capture moments that would otherwise go unseen & ultimately forgotten. To tell the story of the day using our skills & story telling abilities is a position that I treasure & live for.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in this part of the wedding celebrations of Amy & Carl. It has been a joy to be a part of your events over the last few weeks & great fun,  I think we have created some beautiful memories for you that I hope you will treasure for years to come.

A huge thank you as always to my wife & team for allowing me the space to be creative.

Here are some of the images from the wedding day celebrations: Imagery wise this is a long blog post but it's worth it! Enjoy the story...

Our amazing April continues with the wedding of Amy & Carl at The Old Swan & Minster Mill in Oxfordshire. What a beautiful day it was . The weather gods were shining on us for this very informal ceremony outside. It was a very relaxed day with Amy & Carl surrounded by their close family & friends.

In a unique bespoke dress by Emma Victoria Payne Amy looked amazing. Equally did Carl in his bespoke suit. With flowers from The Flower Fairies everything looked very elegant & beautifully suited to the day. All expertly tied together by one of our brides & now Wedding co-ordinator extraordinaire Celeste Rose. After a wonderful meal the day finished off with a fun quiz & drinks back in the Mill. A huge thank you to everyone that made the day run so smoothly and we are very much looking forward to shooting Amy & Carl's further wedding celebrations coming up in Ibiza next week.

A week last Sunday saw us down in the beautiful historic town of Bath photographing the wedding of David & Victoria. What a fantastic day we had with a wonderful couple. It was a pleasure to shoot them and be a part of the day.

The day started off with us meeting David & some of the guys at The Assembly Rooms busy going through their list of jobs to do before the ceremony! After checking out the venue and hatching our shoot plan we met the guys back at the hotel and spent some time there as they were getting ready. I then left and headed up into the hills overlooking Bath to where Victoria & the girls and family were busy getting ready. What a view from the house which complimented Victoria's amazing dress & beautiful flowers by Passion.

The day ran without a hitch and after the ceremony we headed off outside with the weather holding for 20 mins to do some shots of the newly married couple. It was great fun and we used the local architecture near to the Assembly Rooms to our advantage. Also to mention the beautiful cake by Bath Babycakes.

After the family groups we headed inside just as the rain started to spit! Straight into the dancing and evening celebrations. A big thank you to not only the Bride & Groom but to their family & friends that made the day such a joy to be part of.

Brett Harkness Photography is back with our first wedding of 2013 at The Midland Hotel in Manchester. Well Spring isn't here yet as it is bitterly cold but things were soon warmed up at the fantastic wedding of Caron & jay at the weekend. With a service at Whitefield Synagogue and then onto The Midland.

Yes it was cold which didn't give us too much time outside but in the few mins that we had we managed to get some lovely images of the couple to compliment the interior imagery. The party and celebrations continued into the night and was a joy to document. A huge thank you to Caron & Jay and all involved in the wedding celebrations.

December 15th saw us shoot our last wedding of a very busy 2012! At the beautiful Eastwell Manor in Ashford, Kent. We knew it was going to be a great wedding because Neil & Becks were so much fun to shoot & be with.

The rain falling didn't help our plans but as if by "last wedding" magic the rain stopped after the ceremony and gave us a 30 min window to get everyone outside & work very quickly! Becks looked amazing in her beautiful dress & Neil looked very sharp in his tailored suit. With beautiful sparkly favours, great casino & a fantastic singer singing all the old " Frank" tracks the evening was a huge success. There was even some "Gangnam" moves for good measure!

A huge thank you to them for making the day so much fun and a joy to end the year on! Here are a few images from your wedding day:

Our Wedding year continued into December as it usually does with the great wedding of Julie & Andrew at Armathwaite Hall in Keswick, Cumbria.

We knew we were going to have to work fast on this day as although it was a beautiful day it was bitterly cold and the ceremony wasn't until 2.30pm. Giving us a little time outside before the light went. Julie & Andrew both looked fantastic and so they should, they own Novak's Wedding Dress & suit empire here in the North West. We managed to get them outside for some pictures as the light was fading, it was worth the cold as the light was beautiful, with a little flash added to keep the background and show off the amazing setting of this Winter wedding.

A huge thank you to Julie & Andrew for putting up with the cold and for giving us some time outside to get the shots we needed!

It was great to be part of your day , here are some of the images from the day & night:
